Enjoy comfort on a houseboat and appreciate an unobstructed view every day and night of sun, sky, stars, clouds and the water. If you don’t need a luxury hotel but wouldn’t mind the luxury of your own private boat then the Caguama might be something for your next stay here at Laguna Bacalar.

Inspired by the beauty of this world class lake and the idea of being able to sleep right on the lake, after 1 year building time, the custom built Caguama offers room up to 4 people (families with children are welcome) with kitchen, bathroom, shower, beds and terrasse...just like a floating apartment.

The sundeck of the boat is ideal to enjoy the scenery around. You can sit on the deck until late in the evening with some candles and a glass of wine, listening to the murmuring water and enjoying the sound of nature. And if it’s raining you can sit in the cabin on the relaxing couch or a table perfect for playing cards or scrabble.
The big table can be turned into a matrimonial bed, the couch into a bunkbed.

Caguama is self catering, it is equipped with a kitchenette, free drinking water as needed, free coffee and tea. We provide a cooler for ice, drinks and food that you bring. If you don’t feel like cooking for yourself, let us know and we are happy to serve you delicious dinner at the Villas Ecotucan.
The houseboat comes equipped with life jackets. However, if you have your own we invite you to bring those.

While having a good time people often tend to overlook issues, real issues. We want to make you aware of these issues by contributing our knowledge to ecotourism. Unusual features like a composting toilet, 12 Volt power for lights and pumps as well as a grey water solution are essential to keep unique Laguna Bacalar or also called Lake of the Seven Colors as special as it is.
